About me

Hi again! My name is Kierra

AKA THe "Data Conversationalist"

I enjoy creating data strategies, architecture plans, and pipelines for companies while adding in a twist of Cloud Devops strategies. I first stumbled upon data through my last college internship/first full time job at Visa and later returned to it a few years later during a Data Architecture contract with Charles Schwab!

To say my journey through tech has been all over the place is an understatement. I've taken on many different roles and believe they have strengthened me to be the well rounded data person I am today! My last/current role focuses on deploying Kubernetes components for over 58 microservices but I am currently focused on seeing how that maps over to MLops!

  • Cloud Devops Engineer @ IBM

    December 2018 - June 2024
    I worked on the Key Protect (Key Management Service) and deployed new releases using a CI/CD pipeline and automated many of our operational tasks

  • HR Data Architect @ Chewy

    October 2022- March 2023
    I helped create a data strategy to securely bring data from multiple learning systems into a centralized data warehouse

  • Data Engineer @ Axciom

    November 2021 - May 2022
    I designed and implemented some ETL pipelines to funnel operational data into a data warehouse and created dashboards that tracked our data loading processes in the pipelines.

  • HR Data Architect @ Charles Schwab

    August 2020 - January 2021
    Defined and drove execution of the Learning Engineering & Innovation team’s data strategy including architecture, modeling, implementation, and data management fordata warehouse and data analytics

  • HR Data Analyst & Engineer @ Visa

    May 2016 - December 2018
    Developed 10+ data integration connectors that funneled over 2.5 million data records via multiple sources into a centralized data store and presented multiple dashboards to executive stakeholders and gave recommendation son how to improve employee upskilling rates, which increased rates by 35%
